Tthe Use Cookies option enables a HTTP cookie-based security check. When this option is enabled, Webmail sends a unique bit of information (a cookie) to your browser when you login, and the browser resends that information back to the WebMail server every time you access your email. This allows WebMail to recognize who you are. Note: Do NOT select this option if you plan to use browsers that do not support cookies.
Require Fixed Network Address, if selected, means that once you login to WebMail, it expects you to continue to come from the same network address until you logout. This is another way for WebMail to keep track of your mail session, but it may cause problems for users whose network address changes frequently. If you are continually being logged out, the cookie option might be better for you.
